Speaking of weather, get ready for some record-breaking temperatures this weekend.
School district stuff: The board meets this afternoon for the first time since (probably) firing the old superintendent and the resignation of two board members. Board chair Rachel Weber, of course, has said people who want to know about what the board is up to should watch meetings since she isn’t obligated to speak to media, but the board has also decided to stop livestreaming them, so if you can’t make it to the office at 4 today, you’ll have to watch the video that will get posted later. Transparency! Meantime, the acting superintendent says she isn’t phased by all the board controversey and is instead focused on serving the students. And the district would like to assure the public it is committed to building more childcare spots.
A new study takes a closer look at the need for vets in northern B.C.
