prince george twitter, but in newsletter form

Short version: A local newsletter focused on Prince George, B.C., Canada and community conversations about it.

Longer version:

I used to be a heavy Facebook user. I’d post on it a lot, and I amassed a lot of followers. But over the years, that platform stopped being a place I liked to hang out, and stopped being a place I liked interacting with people on. I still have it, but I use it a lot less — like, once a month or less.

I’ve been having similar feelings about Twitter for a long while now, too. It started before the current brouhaha and I’m not making a judgement call on how that’s going to turn out. I still use it daily, and I’m not making a big statement on leaving or staying. But other people are leaving, and a lot of them are people I liked talking to about the news of the day, especially in my community.

I don’t want to go back to Facebook for these conversations, and I am not ready to move it all over to TikTok or Instagram (I’m too old, plus I don’t think they really lend themselves to the same sorts of chats). So I’m gonna try this.

let’s figure it out together?

I don’t have any grand plans about scoops or daily updates. I’m just looking for a place to have the sorts of fun conversations that used to happen in facebook comments and then on twitter. I don’t know if other people want this? But if you do, let me know….
